Part-time / On-call (School Days)
Job Description
We are seeking reliable and responsible individuals to join a pre-identified substitute teacher pool for a middle school (grades 6–8) at a Jewish day school in Bergen County.
This role focuses on classroom supervision and structure during teacher absences. Teaching experience is helpful but not required. Substitutes will use provided teacher materials and are not expected to create lesson plans or instructional materials.
What this person will do
On-Call Coverage
Accepted applicants will be added to a pool of on-call substitutes
Coverage needs, hours, and compensation will be posted as they arise
Substitutes may claim assignments based on availability
Classroom Coverage
Supervise students during scheduled class periods
Follow lesson plans or structured activities when provided
Maintain classroom order and appropriate behavior
Ensure students remain engaged and on task
